Halloween Rocky Road Gluten Free

I love a good rocky road!

There’s something so fun about mixing all of your favourite biscuits and lollies, all coated in rich, melted chocolate. This version has a spooky twist, with gummy eyeballs and sour worms peeking through every slice.

Halloween treats should be fun, quick, and a little over the top, and this rocky road ticks every box. It’s crunchy, chewy, chocolatey, and filled with colourful surprises in every bite. You can use whatever you’ve got in the pantry, but I love adding gluten-free biscuits and a few spooky extras like gummy eyeballs and sour worms. I would also normally add in marshmellows but left them out for the gummy eyeballs.

The secret to a good rocky road is all about texture. You want a mix of soft, chewy, and crunchy in every bite. The gummy eyeballs bring the chew, the biscuits add that perfect snap, and the almonds give a little nutty crunch.

The best part about Halloween Rocky Road is how creative you can get with decorations. Add gummy eyes, snakes, or creepy gummy hands, anything goes. The more colour and texture, the better! If you’re making it for kids, let them help decorate; it’s messy in the best way possible.

Ingredients

  • 1 Block Toblerone

  • 1 Pack Gluten Free Scotch Fingers

  • 1/2 Cup Slivered Almonds

  • Handful Gluten Free m&ms (milk buttons)

  • Handful Trolli Brite Crawlers

  • Handful Gummy Eyeballs

  • Eyeball Decorations

  • DIY Skull Chocolates

Directions

  • Roughly chop the gluten-free Scotch Fingers, sour worms, gummy eyeballs, and any larger lollies into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the Toblerone in 30-second bursts, stirring between each until smooth.
  • Add the chopped biscuits and lollies, along with the gummy eyeballs, almonds, and gluten-free M&M’s. Stir until everything is evenly coated in chocolate.
  • Pour the mixture into a lined tin, pressing it down gently with the back of a spoon.
  • Decorate the top with extra gummy eyeballs, skull chocolates and any other items you choose, pressing them in slightly so they stick.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until set. Slice into chunky pieces and serve.

Notes

  • Work quickly: Once the chocolate is melted and smooth, move fast when mixing everything together. The chocolate can start to set as it cools, and you want all the mix-ins to coat evenly before it thickens.
  • Chop everything first: Have all your biscuits and lollies prepped and ready before melting the chocolate — it’ll make the process smoother and less stressful.
  • Use chocolate you love: My favourite gluten-free chocolate is Toblerone, which adds a beautiful flavour and texture, but you can swap it for any milk or dark chocolate you love.
  • Mix-ins are flexible: You can use whatever gluten-free biscuits, nuts, or lollies you have on hand, rocky road is super forgiving.
  • Setting time: Make sure it chills for at least one hour so you can cut clean, chunky pieces.
  • Storage: Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to a week.
